Working Elephant Outreach

Srijana Kali chain free

Around 200 domesticated elephants are employed in anti poaching units and safari tourism. Aiming to act and campaign for better conditions for both elephants and their caretakers, we launched our Working Elephant Outreach Programme in 2014.

Together with authorities and entrepreneurs, we promote the welfare of privately owned elephants.  We conduct research and work directly with owners to create examples of good practices, such as chain free corrals and ‘humane safaris’.
