Rescue and rehabilitation of stray dogs
Each day, we receive numerous calls and messages from members of the community regarding a sick or an injured dog. Whenever possible, our Mobile Response Team treats the dog on the street and motivates community members to take care of the animal. If intensive care is required, the dog is taken to our Chobar Animal Shelter.
Profiles of dogs suitable for re-homing are promoted through our adoption materials such as posters on our website and Social Media. Other dogs are released at the spot where they were found to preserve their claim to territory. Community people, including shopkeepers, are requested to watch over and take extra care of these ‘community dogs’.
Our Humane Dog Management Programme operates one Ambulance and one Mobulance (Mobile-Ambulance) along with a highly motivated team working day and night for the welfare of animals in Nepal.
