Health camps start in Lalitpur brick factories

Kathmandu, January 7, 2013 – This week Animal Nepal started a series of mobile health camps in Lalitpur’s brick factories. Supervised by Dr Sudeep Koirala, paravets Tara Budhatoki, Radhika Poudel, Gopal BK, Hari Shrestha and Shankar Sapkota travel from factory to factory, educating equine owners and providing vaccinations, worming medicine and treatment to the animals.

Over 1000 equines work in brick factories in Kathmandu Valley, hauling bricks under tough conditions. This season Animal Nepal will be focusing on creating a business model that works, implementing education and evidence based outreach, livelihood development and advocacy at national and international level.
